Banking Court Karachi Summons in UBL vs Muhammad Saeed, Suit No. 177 of 2026

Banking Court No. 1, Karachi, before Judge Mr. Muhammad Saad Qureshi, has issued summons under Appendix B, Form No. 4, C.P.C., in Suit No. 177 of 2026, filed by United Bank Limited against Muhammad Saeed, son of Abdul Qayyum.

The plaintiff has instituted the suit under the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001, for recovery of Rs. 145,723.38 as the balance of principal and markup due.

The defendant is summoned to obtain leave from the court within 30 days of service to appear and defend the suit, and within that period to have an appearance entered. In default, the plaintiff will be entitled, after expiry of the 30-day period, to a decree for a sum not exceeding Rs. 145,723.38, together with markup at 21% per annum, costs of the suit, and cost of funds from the date of institution of the suit as the court may order.

Leave to appear may be obtained through an application to the court supported by an affidavit or declaration showing a defence to the suit on its merits, or showing that it is reasonable to allow the defendant to appear in the suit.

The matter is fixed for 9 December 2026 at 9:00 a.m. before Banking Court No. 1, Karachi, at Block No. 55, Pakistan Secretariat, near Passport Office, Saddar, Karachi.

The summons was issued under the hand and seal of the court on 7 November 2026, by order of the Reader, Banking Court No. 1, Karachi.
