National Tariff Commission Imposes Definitive Anti-Dumping Duties on Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) from China

Issuer: National Tariff Commission (Government of Pakistan). A final determination has been made and definitive anti-dumping duties imposed on dumped imports of Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) originating in and/or exported from the People’s Republic of China (Case A.D.C. No. 70/2025/NTC/PTA).

Scope and legal basis: The Commission concluded an anti-dumping investigation initiated on 16 August 2025 under Section 23 of the Anti-Dumping Duties Act, 2015 and imposed definitive duties under the Anti-Dumping Duties Rules, 2022. The investigated product is classified under PCT heading 2917.36.01.

Periods examined: For determination of dumping the period of investigation (POI) is 2024-04-01 to 2025-03-31. For determination of injury the period is 2022-04-01 to 2025-03-31.

Effectiveness and duration: Definitive anti-dumping duties are imposed for a period of five years, effective from 2026-01-04. Duties are to be collected at import stage in accordance with the Customs Act, 1969 (as amended) and related rules.
