Cantonment Board Abbottabad Public Notice — Dog Registration, Muzzling and Rabies Vaccination (Cantonment Act 1924, Sec. 119)

Issuer: Military Lands & Cantonments Department, Cantonment Board Abbottabad (Opposite CMH, Mansehra Road, Abbottabad Cantt).

Purpose: To inform residents and dog owners within Abbottabad Cantonment about legal requirements and safety measures concerning dogs, including registration, rabies vaccination, and muzzling as provided under the Cantonment Act, 1924 (Section 119).

Requirements and instructions:

• Dog owners within cantonment limits must register their dogs with the Cantonment Board and present valid rabies vaccination documentation.
• Dogs must be kept muzzled (use of a muzzle) when in public as required by the Cantonment Act, 1924.
• Owners are responsible to ensure dogs do not pose a danger to people or other animals; vaccination against rabies is mandatory.

Consequences of non-compliance: Stray or unregistered dogs and dogs found in violation of these requirements will be dealt with under Section 119 of the Cantonment Act, 1924. The Board will take strict legal action, which may include seizure and destruction of animals that present a public health or safety risk.
