National Tariff Commission Initiates Anti-dumping Investigation on Ibuprofen from China and USA

Issuer: National Tariff Commission (Government of Pakistan). Notice of initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into alleged dumped imports of ibuprofen originating in and/or exported from the People’s Republic of China and the United States of America.

Investigated product: Ibuprofen (classified under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) Heading No. 2916.3910).

Purpose: To determine whether ibuprofen originating in and/or exported from the exporting countries is being dumped into Pakistan and whether such dumping has caused and/or is threatening to cause material injury to the domestic industry producing ibuprofen. The Commission will gather further information/data from interested parties during the investigation.

Actions required from interested parties: Parties with an interest in this investigation (as defined under Section 2(i) of the Act) are requested to identify themselves to the Secretary, National Tariff Commission, State Life Building No.5, Blue Area, Islamabad, within 10 days of publication of this notice. Interested parties seeking registration should provide the name of the company, line of business, name of authorized person, address, telephone number, email and fax number.

Submissions and evidence: All interested parties are invited to submit views, comments and documents/evidence (if any) not later than 45 days from the date of publication of this notice in the press in Pakistan. Written submissions on a confidential basis must be clearly marked "Confidential" and comply with Section 31 of the Act, and be accompanied by a non-confidential summary for placement in the public file.
