LAT 2026 — Law Admission Test for LLB Admissions (HEC / ETC)

Issuer: Higher Education Commission (HEC) — Education Testing Council (ETC). Purpose: Law Admission Test (LAT) for students seeking admission to undergraduate LLB degree programmes in HEC/PEC-recognised public or private universities, institutions or affiliated colleges with valid affiliation to public sector universities.

Eligibility: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent (12 years education), or those who have appeared in the final HSSC or equivalent examinations and are awaiting results.

Registration and key dates: Online registration is available via the ETC portal (http://etc.hec.gov.pk). Last date for online registration: 2026-08-10. LAT test date: 2026-09-06.

How to apply and fee: Register online at the ETC portal. Fee payment is made using the generated consumer number via available e-payment/1Link/IBFT services (details available on the ETC registration portal). Only submitted applications (not saved/incomplete) will be considered; retain CNIC/passport and other required documents for test-day verification.

Test centres and seats: Tests are held at designated test centres in major cities of Pakistan; applicants may select their preferred available test centre during registration subject to availability.

Minimum passing score: 50 out of 100.
