Public Notice: 'Department of Explosives' Renamed as 'National Explosives and Petroleum Safety Agency (NEPSA)'

Issuer: Director General, National Explosives and Petroleum Safety Agency (NEPSA), Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), Government of Pakistan.

Purpose: To notify the general public, all federal and provincial ministries/divisions, provincial governments, autonomous bodies, public sector organisations, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, private organisations, licence holders, importers, manufacturers, dealers, contractors, consultants, transporters and other stakeholders that the "Department of Explosives" has been renamed as the "National Explosives and Petroleum Safety Agency (NEPSA)" pursuant to amendments in the Explosives Rules, 2010 approved by the Federal Government.

Effect and Instructions:

- With immediate effect, all official correspondence, applications, licences, permits, No Objection Certificates (NOCs), approvals, notifications, agreements, reports, records, invoices, legal instruments and other official documents should be addressed to and issued in the name of the National Explosives and Petroleum Safety Agency (NEPSA) instead of the "Department of Explosives."

- All licences, permits, NOCs, certificates, permissions, registrations and other legal instruments previously issued by the Department of Explosives shall remain valid and in force until their stated expiry or until they are suspended, cancelled or renewed in accordance with applicable laws and rules.

Action: This notice is issued for information, guidance and compliance of all concerned parties.
