| Eligibility | Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan. Age not more than 20 years as on 2026-12-31. For candidates from FATA/Gilgit-Baltistan/AJK/Balochistan age limit is 21 years as on 2026-12-31. Academic: F.Sc. Pre-Engineering or A-Level with subjects Maths, Physics & Chemistry and at least 55% marks. O/A Level candidates must submit separate equivalency certificates. F.Sc./A-Level Part-I candidates with minimum 60% in Part-I may apply but must provide a Hope Certificate from head of institute. |
| Selection Procedure | Initial NTS Entrance Test (conducted at multiple centres), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), medical examination and interview. Provisional selection based on combined criteria and medical clearance. PET standards and further details published by PMA; interview and PET dates will be posted on the PMA website and communicated by SMS. |

| Training & Award | Two years residential pre-sea training at PMA. On successful completion, diploma awarded in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. IMO-recognized pre-sea mandatory courses provided. |
| Ineligibility / Disqualifications | Applicants with tampered academic certificates, false information, dismissed/removed from government/armed forces for misconduct, medically unfit (including confirmed color blindness), or failing selection stages will be disqualified. |
