Allama Iqbal Open University PhD Admissions Autumn 2026 – Scholarships Available

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is inviting applications for PhD Admissions for Autumn 2026 with fully funded merit-based scholarships for selected PhD programmes. PhD admissions will follow HEC standard criteria; applicants seeking merit scholarships must meet the additional eligibility requirements listed below.

Eligibility criteria for scholarship (highlights)

• Minimum CGPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent in MS/MPhil degree.
• Submission of a well-written research proposal aligned with the relevant research area and proposed supervisor.
• Prior research experience or publication record is preferred but not mandatory.
• Age limit: candidate should be 35 years or below on the closing date of admission for scholarship consideration.
• Applicants must also meet HEC and AIOU admission requirements.

Scholarship terms & conditions (highlights)

• Scholarship covers full tuition fee of the PhD programme.
• Monthly stipend of Rs. 80,000 (to support living expenses).
• Access to university research facilities, libraries, laboratories and online databases.
• Scholarship duration up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress and Chairperson/Chairman approval; scholars are generally required to be resident at AIOU Main Campus during the stipend period.
