Final Notice under Section 7(f) of the PEEDA Act, 2006 — Assistant District Public Prosecutor (Jhelum)

Proceedings under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act, 2006 were initiated against Mr. Jahanzab Umer on a charge of misconduct. A show cause notice (ref. No. SOE1/IPPDA/24-446/2011-264) dated 18.02.2020 required a written reply within seven days, which was not submitted.

The proven charge states that after expiry of 730 days of extraordinary/ex-Pakistan leave (department order dated 25.07.2022), he was required to submit his joining report on 14.06.2024 but failed to do so and remained absent from duty w.e.f. 14.06.2024 to date. This conduct is held to amount to misconduct under the PEEDA Act, 2006.

Proposed penalties under Section 4 of the Act include: (i) dismissal from service or (ii) removal from service.

A personal hearing notice under Section 7(d) of the PEEDA Act, 2006 dated 12.03.2026 was issued to appear before the Secretary, Public Prosecution Department, but the addressee neither appeared nor rejoined duty.

The addressee is directed, through this advertisement, to appear before the Secretary, Public Prosecution Department (Competent Authority) at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore within one week from the date of publication; otherwise ex-parte action will be taken under Section 4 of the PEEDA Act, 2006 and no excuse will be accepted.
