KE warns that illegal tapping, unauthorised civil/surface works near electrical assets, damaging or bypassing meters, and any activity that compromises safety or causes outages will not be tolerated. Such actions endanger public safety and critical infrastructure and may cause severe accidents.

Consequences and actions: KE will disconnect illegal or unsafe connections, remove tampered equipment, and initiate legal proceedings under applicable laws. Responsible persons will face criminal prosecution and penalties, including imprisonment (up to seven (07) years) and other legal sanctions as provided by law.

Advice and compliance: Anyone planning civil works, excavation, or construction near electrical infrastructure must obtain prior written permission from K-Electric and follow required safety and protection standards. The public is urged not to attempt repairs, modifications, or illegal connections themselves and to avoid placing people or property at risk.
