ZTBL Recruitment — Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM) at Head Office Islamabad

• At least 4 years' experience giving Shariah rulings including Takhassus fil-Fiqh period, or at least 5 years' post-qualification experience in teaching or R&D in Islamic Banking & Finance.
• Preference to candidates with certificate in Takhassus fil-Fiqh / Takhassus fil-Iftha.
• Preference to candidates with at least 3 years' experience as Shariah Advisor or member of a Shariah Board of an Islamic Financial Institution, or as deputy/member of a Shariah team.

• Shahadat ul-Alamiyya (Dars-e-Nizami) or equivalent from recognized Board of Madaris plus a Bachelor's degree (or qualification not less than Madaris degree),
• OR Postgraduate degree in relevant Shariah fields (e.g., Kulyatush-Shariah / Kulyayh Usuluddin) or LL.M. (Shariah) or equivalent from a recognized university,
• OR membership of Shariah Boards/Committees of internationally reputed organizations.

• Provide Shariah explanations and clarifications to management and staff on products, documents, process flows and operational Shariah matters in light of decisions, rulings and fatawa.
• Prepare Shariah opinions for new products, processes and business activities and assess Shariah permissibility and implications.
• Ensure provision of necessary information and documentation to the Shariah Board and management.
• Guide Shariah compliance reviews of key business areas on a test-check basis.
• Review responses to Shariah-related queries from clients and support the Shariah Compliance Department (SCD) and Training Department in training and technical matters.
• Submit periodic (at least quarterly) reports to the Shariah Board for ratification of material Shariah matters.

• Maximum age limit: 62 years as on closing date (as stated in the advertisement).
• Market-competitive remuneration will be offered.
