K-Electric Public Safety Notice: Hazardous Illegal Encroachments and Power Line Safety

Issuer: K-Electric (KE). This is an official public safety notice regarding illegal encroachments, unauthorized construction, theft and other unlawful activities on or near power lines and electrical infrastructure that create serious hazards for the public and disrupt electricity supply.

Purpose: To warn residents, contractors and businesses that any non-authorized use, construction, encroachment or tampering with KE lines, poles, transformers and other equipment is dangerous, unlawful and will be dealt with under applicable laws and KE regulations.

Actions and consequences stated: KE may remove unauthorized encroachments or installations, disconnect electricity supply, recover removal and repair costs from responsible parties, impose penalties, and initiate legal proceedings against violators. KE reserves the right to take immediate corrective action where public safety or system integrity is at risk.

Instructions to the public: Maintain safe distances from power lines and KE equipment; do not build, place materials, or run unauthorized services on or across KE assets; obtain prior written permission from KE for any work or installations affecting KE infrastructure.
