Pakistan Reinsurance Company Limited (PRCL), Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, invites applications for the contractual position of Shariah Advisor to provide advisory services on Re-Takaful matters.

| Qualification (option 1) | Shahadat-ul-Alamiyah (Darse-Nizami) from a recognized Board of Madaris plus an HEC-recognized Bachelor's degree (minimum 2nd Class) and at least 4 years' experience issuing Shariah rulings in Fiqh-ul-Muamalat (including Takhasus fil Fatawa); adequate knowledge of Islamic finance and Takaful/Re-Takaful |
| Qualification (option 2) | Post-graduate degree in Islamic jurisprudence/Usul al-Din or LL.M (Shariah) and a suitable Takaful certificate |
| Experience | Minimum seven (7) years' experience as a Shariah Advisor in the Takaful industry. Proficiency in English and knowledge of applicable Pakistani laws are essential. Preference for candidates with Islamic finance teaching experience or an M.Phil / Ph.D. in Islamic Finance. |

Key responsibilities include (non-exhaustive):
- Provide expert advice on Re-Takaful policies, services, operations, investments, contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with Shariah principles.
- Ensure Re-Takaful operations comply with SECP rules, regulations, guidelines, rulings and decisions.
- Assist formulation and interpretation of Shariah-compliant Re-Takaful policies and procedures, including facultative and treaty matters.
- Provide technical guidance and deliver training/educational sessions to company officers on Takaful/Re-Takaful matters.
- Fulfil duties outlined in Takaful Rules 2012 and undertake assignments as approved by the CEO or Board.
Selection will be on merit according to the advertisement criteria and Takaful Rules 2012. The interviewing committee’s decision will finalize the order of merit. Any attempt to influence the process will disqualify a candidate.
