The Higher Education Commission (HEC) invites Pakistani researchers and scholars to submit applications for the HEC Research Awards 2026-27 to recognize excellence in research, contributions to intellectual development and high-impact publications.
| Award Category | Key Eligibility / Requirements |

| Best Researcher | The applicant must have been a resident of Pakistan for at least three years on 2026-01-01. The applicant/publication must not have received the same award earlier. Applicant must not be blacklisted by HEC and publications must comply with HEC plagiarism policy. |
| Best Young Researcher | The applicant must be under 40 years of age on 2026-01-01 and must have been a resident of Pakistan for at least one year on 2026-01-01. General HEC eligibility conditions apply (no blacklist, plagiarism compliance, not a previous award recipient). |
| Best Publication | The publication must be a scholarly book or journal article, not older than three years as of 2026-01-01. A publication must be authored by no more than three authors; all authors must have been residents of Pakistan for at least three years on 2026-01-01. Research articles must be published in HEC-recognized Y-category journals. Books must be published by a recognized/renowned academic press. Publications previously submitted for the same award category are ineligible. |
