The Higher Education Commission (HEC) invites Pakistani researchers and scholars to submit applications for the HEC Research Awards 2026-27 to recognize excellence in research, contributions to intellectual development, and high-impact publications.
| Award Category | Key Eligibility Requirements |

| Best Researcher | Applicant must be a resident of Pakistan for at least three years as of 2026-01-01; applicant must not be blacklisted by HEC; publications of applicant/authors must not be found in violation of HEC plagiarism policy. |
| Best Young Researcher | Applicant must be under 40 years of age on 2026-01-01 and must be a resident of Pakistan for at least one year as of 2026-01-01; standard general eligibility and plagiarism conditions apply. |
| Best Publication | Publication must be a scholarly book or journal article; not older than three years before 2026-01-01; all authors must be residents of Pakistan for at least three years as of 2026-01-01; research articles must be published in an HEC-recognized W-category journal and meet minimum citation and authorship requirements; books must be published by a recognized/renowned academic press; previously submitted works to the same award category are not eligible for re-submission. |
General eligibility highlights: applicants must not be blacklisted by HEC; an application/publication must not have previously received the same award; publications must comply with HEC plagiarism policy. Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained.
