Election Commission Show Cause Notice to Returned Senate Candidate for Failure to File Election Expense Return (Form‑C)

Issuer: Election Commission of Pakistan, Political Finance Wing, Islamabad.

Purpose: A returned candidate in respect of the Senate elections held on 2024-04-02 has been issued a show cause notice for failing to submit the prescribed return of election expenses (Form‑C) within the 30‑day period required under Section 134(1) of the Elections Act, 2017 and Article 218(3) of the Constitution.

The Commission requires the candidate to furnish a satisfactory explanation and the requisite return of election expenses within seven (07) days of the date of issue/publication of the notice; failure to comply may result in appropriate proceedings, including filing a complaint before the competent court/forum and other actions permitted under the Elections Act, 2017.
