The Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Government of Pakistan invites applications for the position of Member (Energy) to lead energy-sector policy and planning, modernization, and investment prioritization.

| Purpose / Role | Promote and introduce innovation and technological interventions to modernize the energy sector; prioritize public sector investment for addressing energy sector losses; support sustainable and affordable energy; review and monitor energy sector projects, programs and guide policymaking and investment choices; coordinate with development partners and prepare Pakistan’s country strategy; participate in CDWP/ECNEC meetings and facilitate approvals. |
| Qualifications | Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology / Geology with specialization in Coal Resources / Gas Reservoir / Chemical / Energy / Mechanical / Materials / Electrical (Power) / Mining Engineering with subject specialization in relevant field. |
| Eligibility & Experience | For Ph.D. holders: at least 14 years of experience including 5–8 years of managerial/administrative experience at policy-making level. For Master’s holders: at least 18 years of experience including 5–8 years of managerial/administrative experience at policy-making level. |
| Tenure | Initially for a period of two (02) years, further extendable on an annual (yearly) basis up to a maximum of four (04) years, subject to satisfactory performance. |
| Pay Package | As per SPS-I scale (as applicable to Government Service). |
