Public Hearing Notice: EIA for Reconstructing & Widening of National Highway N-5 (Rawalpindi–Hasan Abad)

Issuer: Environment Protection & Climate Change Department, Government of the Punjab. Applicant: National Highway Authority (NHA).

Purpose: Public hearing for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the project “Reconstructing & Widening of Priority Sections of National Highway N-5” (Phase 1A). The hearing is convened under Section 12 of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act (PEPA) 1997 (as amended) to receive comments from affected communities, stakeholders and other interested parties.

Project location: Section of National Highway N-5 between Rawalpindi and Hasan Abad. Districts: Rawalpindi and Attock. Province: Punjab.

An EIA report prepared by the project proponent is available for review at the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency public register and the NHA e-Library. Interested persons may review the report and raise comments during the public hearing or submit written comments as per the procedures published by the EPA.
