ZTBL – Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM) – Head Office Islamabad (1 Post)

- Shahadat ul Alamiya / Alimiyyah / Dars-e-Nizami or similar degree from a recognized madaris/board
- OR Bachelor’s degree (if other than Madaris degree)
- Postgraduate degree in Kulliyatul Shariah or Kulliyat al Usuluddin, or LL.M. (Shariah) or equivalent from a recognized university

- At least 4 years’ experience of giving Shariah rulings, including period of Takhasus fil Ifta; OR at least 5 years post-qualification experience in teaching or R&D in Islamic Banking & Finance.
- Preference to candidates with certificate in Takhasus fil Fiqh/Takhasus fil Ifta.
- Preference to those with at least 3 years’ experience as a Shariah Advisor, member of a Shariah Board of an Islamic Financial Institution (IFI), deputy to a Shariah Advisor or member of an IFI Shariah team.
- Adequate understanding of banking and finance in general and Islamic finance in particular; sound knowledge of Usul al-Fiqh and Shariah methodologies for deriving juristic opinions.

- Provide Shariah guidance, clarifications and opinions to management and staff on products, documentation, processes and operational Shariah matters.
- Review and approve product structures, documents and processes to ensure Shariah compliance; support Shariah Board in its duties.
- Liaise with the Shariah Compliance Department (SCD) and other departments to ensure Shariah-compliant product development and operations.
- Assist in Shariah reviews, training, and issuance of necessary Shariah clarifications and reports.
