Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is inviting applications for PhD admissions for Autumn 2026 with fully funded, merit-based scholarships. Scholarships cover full tuition and a monthly stipend. Applications must meet HEC criteria and the additional eligibility requirements listed below.

Eligibility criteria for scholarship
- Minimum CGPA 3.5/4.0 or equivalent in MS/MPhil degree.
- Submission of a well-written research proposal aligned with the relevant research area.
- Prior research experience or publication record is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates demonstrating exceptional potential and passion for teaching, learning and development may be given opportunities.
- Maximum age limit: 35 years or below on the closing date of admission.
Scholarship terms & conditions
- Scholarship covers full tuition for the PhD programme.
- Monthly stipend of Rs. 80,000 (to support living expenses) is provided.
- Access to university research facilities, libraries and online databases is included.
- Scholarship duration up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress and annual review.
- Scholars are generally required to remain physically present at AIOU Main Campus during the stipend period.
