Vice Chancellor Vacancies — Punjab Public Sector Medical Universities (Apply by 2026-07-20)

Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Government of the Punjab invites applications for the posts of Vice Chancellor for five public sector medical universities in Punjab. Appointment is for a non-extendable period of four (4) years and the Vice Chancellor shall serve during the pleasure of the Chancellor.

Eligibility (key requirements)

- Primary medical qualification: MBBS (minimum second division) OR an equivalent minimum Level-III medical qualification (e.g., FCPS, MD, MS) in clinical subjects, or PhD in basic medical sciences from an institute/university recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Academic requirement: At least ten (10) years as a Professor in a medical institute or university recognized by PMDC.
- Must be registered with PMDC/Medical and Dental Council where required.
- Age limit: Candidate must not be more than seventy (70) years of age on the last date of submission.

Terms & conditions (summary)

- Term: Four (4) years (non-extendable).
- The Vice Chancellor shall not hold any paid/unpaid administrative or academic post elsewhere during the term, except permitted academic and clinical assignments at the university and its attached hospitals for academic purposes.
- No private practice is allowed inside or outside university premises during the term.

- Applicants must submit required supporting documents. Submission of No Objection Certificate (NOC), No Enquiry Certificate (NEC) and No Due Certificate (NDC) from current employer is required where applicable.
- In addition to online submission, hard copies (six (6) sets) of the applications and required documents must be submitted to the Facilitation Centre of the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, 11-A Lawrence Road, Lahore.
