Key eligibility requirements (summary):
- MBBS degree (minimum second division) or equivalent minimum Level-III medical qualification (e.g., FCPS, MD, MS) in clinical subjects, or Ph.D. in basic medical sciences from an institute/university recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC).
- At least ten years as a Professor in a medical institute or university recognized by PMDC.
- At least twenty publications in indexed medical journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission or PMDC.
- Candidate must not be more than seventy years of age on the last date of submission.
Terms and conditions (summary):
- Appointment is for a period of four years (non-extendable) and shall serve during the pleasure of the Chancellor.
- The Vice Chancellor shall not hold any paid or unpaid post elsewhere and shall not undertake private clinical practice inside or outside university premises; may undertake academic/clinical assignments in the university and its attached hospital for academic purposes only.

- No Objection Certificate (NOC), No Enquiry Certificate (NC) and No Due Certificate (NDC) from the current employer are mandatory.
- Clearly mention on the envelope and application top: "Application for the Position of the Vice Chancellor of public sector medical universities".
- Only eligible/short-listed candidates will be called for interview. Applications received after the stipulated date & time will not be entertained.
