With profound sorrow, the family and staff announce the passing of Mrs. Akhter Khalid Waheed, Chairperson of Ferozsons Laboratories Limited and founding Chief Executive Officer of BE Biosciences Limited. A devoted mother of seven, she led Ferozsons Laboratories Limited following her husband's passing in March 1992 and restored the company to financial strength; under her leadership the company earned the KSE Top 25 Companies Award six times. In 2008 she founded BE Biosciences Limited, recognized in this notice as Pakistan's first biotechnology company, which pursued treatments for hepatitis, diabetes, and cancer and promoted broader, more affordable access to medicines.
