K-Electric (KE) warns that unauthorised construction or civil work on and around KE infrastructure can damage power assets, cause power disruption and create serious safety incidents. KE infrastructure carries high-voltage electricity and is maintained/installed by trained personnel under strict safety parameters. Works that affect KE's network — including excavation using pickaxes that can damage underground infrastructure — have caused supply interruptions and put lives at risk.
