Abbottabad Cantt Public Notice: Mandatory Registration of Pet Dogs under Cantonments Act 1924

Purpose: All residents of Abbottabad Cantonment who keep pet dogs are required to register those dogs with the Cantonment Board Abbottabad in accordance with Section 119 of the Cantonments Act, 1924 (as amended to date).

Required formalities (includes but not limited to): issuance and wearing of a metal token; vaccination of dogs against rabies; keeping dogs muzzled in public.

Consequences of non-compliance: The Cantonment Board will take action as permitted under Section 119 of the Cantonments Act, 1924 (as amended), which may include detention or destruction of dogs, imposition of fines, and legal action or other remedies under prevailing laws.
