National Bank of Pakistan invites applications for the senior role of Head - Credit Approvals (SVP) based in Karachi. The role reports to the Chief Credit Officer - Retail & Program Lending and is focused on credit approval, underwriting oversight and strengthening credit controls across retail, SME and agri financing portfolios.

| Educational / Professional Qualification | Minimum graduation or equivalent from an HEC-recognized local or international university/college/institute. Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certification(s) preferred. |
| Experience | Minimum 10 years of banking experience in a commercial bank, including at least 5 years in credit processing in Retail and/or SME and/or Agricultural financing. |
| Skills / Expertise | Good problem-solving and decision-making; sound business acumen and understanding of credit products & services; strong interpersonal and communication skills; sound understanding of credit evaluation and risk assessment processes; knowledge of risk policies, regulations and emerging trends. |
| Key Duties & Responsibilities | Ensure lending is in line with bank-approved policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines; monitor underwriting to identify gaps and take corrective measures; maintain strict control over underwriters’ performance and post-approval smoothness; prepare performance reports and recommendations; manage and monitor credit portfolio for quality and regulatory compliance; support quality checks to ensure compliance with requirements and credit policies; provide training and oversee credit approval staff; perform other assignments as directed by supervisors. |
| Assessment & Employment Type | Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for panel interview(s). Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, renewable at management’s discretion. Selected candidates will be offered compensation and benefits as per the Bank’s policy. |
