Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) invites applications on an open contract basis for the post of Manager (Geophysics) at its Head Office in Islamabad. The role requires an experienced geophysicist to lead and execute integrated geophysical programmes for mineral exploration, supervise technical teams, and manage data acquisition, processing, interpretation and quality control.

Position	Manager (Geophysics)
Qualification	BS/MS/MPhil in Geophysics or Applied Geophysics (PhD preferred) from an HEC-recognized institution; minimum 16 years of education. Higher degrees and relevant professional training preferred.
Experience	Approximately 8 years post-qualification experience after completion of BS, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or technical lead role. Relevant experience in mineral exploration, geophysical data acquisition, processing, interpretation, quality control and integrated subsurface modelling is required.
Age Limit	38 years on the last date of application submission.
Domicile Preference	Candidates with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan domicile will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities	Plan, design and execute integrated geophysical programmes using magnetic, gravity, ERT, IP, MT/AMT, radiometric and other suitable methods. Define survey grids, line orientation, station spacing, acquisition parameters and quality-control procedures to meet target objectives. Lead and QA/QC field acquisition, data processing, quality control, interpretation and integration of geophysical datasets. Supervise calibration, mobilization, operation, maintenance and demobilization of geophysical instruments and field equipment. Process and interpret data using Oasis Montaj, ZongFM 2D/3D, EarthImager, RES2D, Voxler, MapMag, Surfer, GIS, Global Mapper and related software. Apply appropriate corrections, filters, derivatives, enhancement techniques and forward/inversion methods to produce interpretable outputs. Integrate geophysical results with geological mapping, structural interpretation, trenching, drilling and other exploration methods. Develop 2D and 3D subsurface models to determine target geometry, depth and mineralization potential. Prepare technical reports, maps, sections, models and exploration recommendations. Manage geophysical databases, ensure data validation, coordinate data-system verification, metadata documentation, secure archiving and traceability. Supervise geophysical teams and contractors, ensure compliance with approved survey designs, project schedules, budgets, HSE requirements and recognized industry practices.
Contract / Terms	Open contract basis; specific tenure and market-based remuneration details to be offered.
