Issuer: Education Testing Council (ETC), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Sector H-9, Islamabad. Purpose: Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) for award of HEC scholarships for Ph.D. programmes and for admission to MS/MPhil/Ph.D. programmes in universities. Eligibility: Candidates with 16 years or equivalent education may register in the relevant HAT category as per university admission requirements.
Key dates: Last date for online registration: 2026-10-02 (24:00). HAT test date: 2026-10-25 (Sunday).

How to apply: Register online at http://etc.hec.gov.pk. For assistance use https://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk. Only SUBMITTED applications (completed with required payments and information) will be considered; applications saved as draft/incomplete will not be entertained. Fee payment instructions and generation of payment invoice will be available through the registration portal. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Important instructions: Print and bring the Roll Number Slip and original CNIC or passport to the test centre. Mobile phones and other electronic devices are not allowed inside the test centre. HAT results are valid for award of HEC scholarships (including Commonwealth, Chinese Government, Hungarian and other HEC scholarships).
