Manager (Geophysics) – PMDC Vacancy (Islamabad)

Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) invites applications on open contract basis for the post of Manager (Geophysics) at its Head Office in Islamabad.

Key duties and responsibilities include (summary): plan, design and execute integrated geophysical programs for mineral exploration using magnetic, gravity, ERT, IP, MT/AMT, radiometric and other methods; define survey grids, line orientation, station spacing and acquisition parameters; prepare QA/QC field acquisition, processing and interpretation procedures; lead data acquisition and processing, quality control and integrated interpretation; supervise calibration, mobilization, operation and maintenance of geophysical instruments; process and interpret data using Oasis Montaj, ZondGM 2D/3D, EarthImager, RES2D, Voxler, MapInfo, Surfer, GIS, Global Mapper and related software; apply forward modelling and inversion to produce reliable geophysical outputs; integrate geophysical results with geological mapping, structural interpretation, remote sensing, geochemistry and drilling data to develop 2D and 3D subsurface models and target recommendations; prepare technical reports, maps, sections, models, cost estimates and time schedules; manage geophysical databases, data validation and quality assurance; supervise contractors and ensure compliance with HSE and industry practices.
