National Bank of Pakistan — President, Group Chief Inclusive Development (SEVP) — Karachi

Issuer: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). Senior management vacancy for the position of President — Group Chief Inclusive Development (SEVP), based in Karachi, Pakistan. The role reports to the President of NBP and focuses on inclusive development, SME, agriculture and sustainable/green finance initiatives.

Education & Professional Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the HEC of Pakistan in Business Administration / Finance / Economics / Management or a related discipline. Candidates with a Master’s degree and/or certifications in Development Finance, Inclusive Finance, Sustainable Finance, SME / Agricultural Finance or related fields are preferred.

Experience: Minimum 18 years’ work experience or minimum 12 years in banking and/or the financial sector with at least:

• 08 years as Head of SME and/or Agricultural and/or Commercial business; and
• 05 years as Head of Retail Banking.

Preference for candidates with experience managing diversified banking portfolios (SME, agriculture, commercial lending), overseeing multi-divisional development-focused operations, working with senior management and Board committees on strategy, governance and business oversight, and proven leadership in sustainability, green finance, financial inclusion and development finance initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership and people-management; strategic decision-making; stakeholder engagement; understanding of SME, agriculture, microfinance, inclusive and development banking; negotiation, representation and relationship management; high integrity; strong governance, analytical and risk management capabilities; ability to deliver results in regulated and performance-driven environments.

Main Duties & Responsibilities (selected) include leading and implementing NBP’s SME, agriculture and inclusive finance strategies; supporting green banking, ESG and sustainable finance initiatives; developing sustainable finance and green lending programs; overseeing ESG integration and climate risk considerations; establishing strategic partnerships with regulators, DFIs and donors; promoting shared value and inclusive development programs; supervising Divisional Heads for business planning, product development and execution; reviewing and recommending credit proposals as per Credit Approval Authorities; representing NBP on relevant Board and executive committees; and providing strategic leadership to grow NBP’s inclusive development footprint and financial inclusion objectives.

Employment Terms & Application Process: Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, which may be renewed at the discretion of management. Compensation is competitive and negotiable commensurate with qualification, experience and leadership potential.
