Issuer: Emergency Services Department, Government of the Punjab (Rescue 1122). Purpose: Mandatory building safety and fire-protection measures to protect life and property. Building owners and managers are required to ensure the following systems, arrangements and clearances are in place; non-compliance may make the owner liable for any loss of life or property.

| Fire Alarm System | Audible and visual appliances; manual pull stations or push-button call points near exits. |
| Internal Standpipe System (Wet Riser) | On each floor with 2.5 inch diameter coupling and 1.5 inch hose with nozzle. |
| Automatic Sprinkler System | Required in all spaces containing combustible material. |
| Floor Separators in Electrical Ducts | Separation by 4mm metal sheet and fire-resistant sealants around cable penetrations. |
| Fire Dampers in HVAC | Install fire dampers and insulate ducts with fire-retardant materials. |
| Fire Extinguishers | DCP-6kg near exits; maximum 75 ft between extinguishers; provision of one per 2,000 sq. ft. of floor area. |
| First Aid & Escape Masks | Provide a first aid box and two fire escape masks at each floor entrance, security posts, reception or nursing stations. |
| External Fire Hydrant | Red pillar type at safe, easily accessible points with two outlets of 2.5" diameter and instantaneous coupling. |
| Liability for Non-Compliance | Owner shall be liable for any loss of life or property in case of non-compliance. |
