Higher Education Commission (HEC) invites Pakistani researchers and scholars to apply for the HEC Research Awards 2026–27 to recognize excellence in research, contributions to intellectual development and high-impact publications.
Award categories:
| Award | Eligible candidates / key eligibility |
|---|---|
| Best Researcher | Applicant must be a resident of Pakistan for at least three years as of 2026-01-01. General eligibility also applies. |
| Best Young Researcher | Applicant must be under 40 years of age on 2026-01-01 and a resident of Pakistan for at least one year as of 2026-01-01. General eligibility also applies. |
| Best Publication | Scholarly single-author book or journal article published in 2025. Publication must meet HEC recognition/publication criteria. General eligibility also applies. |
General eligibility requirements: The applicant must never have been blacklisted by HEC; the applicant/publication must not have received the same award previously; and none of the publications/contributions credited to the applicant/author may be plagiarized as per HEC plagiarism policy.
