Election Commission Notice to Technology Movement of Pakistan Party — Hearing on Failure to Hold Intra-Party Elections (2026-07-08)

Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a notice to the Technology Movement of Pakistan Party for failing to hold its required intra-party elections. The party last held intra-party elections on 2021-02-23 and the next elections were due on 2026-02-23; the Commission had directed the party on 2025-12-17 to hold elections but the party did not comply and did not reply to the show-cause notice dated 2026-03-16.

The matter was listed for hearing on 2026-06-18 but the party did not appear. The Commission has now fixed a hearing on 2026-07-08 and has directed the party to submit the relevant intra-party election documents at the Commission's office as required under Sections 208 and 209 of the Elections Act, 2017. Failure to comply may result in action under Section 202(5) of the Elections Act, 2017.
