| Essential Qualifications | A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CIMA, or CPA) OR a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration (Finance), or a related field. Degree(s) must be from an HEC-recognized university/institution. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Professional accountancy qualifications with certifications in public financial management, procurement, or IT/systems. |
| Experience | Minimum 12 years post-qualification experience in finance and accounting, with preferably 5+ years as CFO, Director Finance, or Head of Finance. Proven record of implementing financial systems and controls, including ERP deployments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo). |
| Technical Competence | Strong command of IFRS/IPSAS, taxation, audit, and PPRA rules. Experience in higher education, trusts, not-for-profits, or public sector is highly preferred. |
| Key Responsibilities | Design and implement comprehensive financial management systems (chart of accounts, policies, SOPs, internal controls); lead finance and procurement modules of the University ERP; build a digital-first, paperless finance function; manage budgeting, planning, treasury, endowment, reporting, compliance, audit, and risk; oversee procurement and develop a high-performing finance team. |
