Issuer: Higher Education Commission (Education Testing Council). Purpose: Admission test for four-year LLB degree programmes in HEC/PEC-recognized public or private Pakistani universities and affiliated colleges.
Eligibility: Students who have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent (12 years of education). Candidates who have appeared in the final HSSC/equivalent examination and whose result is awaited are also eligible. Candidates who have previously appeared in LAT may re-appear to improve their scores for merit-based admission consideration.

How to apply: Visit the ETC online registration portal at http://etc.hec.gov.pk to create an account, complete the registration form, upload required documents (CNIC/B-Form, photograph), pay the test fee online, and download/print the Roll Number Slip. Test schedule and key dates: Last date for online registration: 2026-10-20. LAT will (tentatively) be held on 2026-11-15. Test centres are allocated in major cities of Pakistan; candidates should consult the ETC website and the Test Calendar 2026 for exact centre listings and timings. Test fees are non-refundable.
