Government of Pakistan — Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives invites applications for the post of Chief Statistician (Chief Executive Officer) at the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Position	Chief Statistician (Chief Executive Officer of PBS)
Qualifications	Masters or advanced university degree, preferably Ph.D. in Statistics or Economics; preference to degrees from HEC-recognized international universities.
Experience & Skills	Minimum 20 years’ professional experience with at least 5 years in senior management in large organisations. Technical knowledge of statistics, national/international economic and management skills; experience managing large databases and national statistical surveys. Proven leadership and research record on national/international social & economic issues and statistical data analysis; computer/data analysis skills.
Terms	Salary: Special Professional Pay Scale-II. Age: Maximum 60 years on closing date of applications. Term of appointment: Five (05) years; eligible for re-appointment subject to performance; individual cannot hold post beyond 65 years.
Key Functions	Decide manner in which data for statistical purposes are collected, transmitted, processed and published. Supervise census conduct and provincial census commissioners; assign tasks and supervise census operations. Appraise quality of statistics at national level and ensure coordination with other statistical agencies; develop research and analytical capacity.
