Position Details

Position: Senior Manager – Credit Policy (AVP/VP)
Location: Karachi
Reporting to: Wing Head – Credit Policy Wing, Credit Risk Management Division

Education and Professional Qualifications

• Minimum graduation or equivalent from a local or international university, college or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree and/or relevant professional qualifications such as Data Analytics, CFA, FRM, ACCA or ICMA.

Experience

Applicants must have at least six years of banking experience in corporate, commercial and/or SME lending, either on the business side and/or in risk management at a commercial bank.

Skills and Knowledge

• Attention to detail in ensuring data accuracy, maintenance and confidentiality.
• Data and portfolio analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Sound understanding of credit policy and State Bank of Pakistan regulations.
• Good analytical, data management and problem-solving skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare periodic Management Information System (MIS) reports for senior management and the Board of Directors covering key areas of credit approvals, in line with the bank's approved policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant business and support units for timely provision of complete and accurate data, ensuring consistency and resolution of discrepancies before submission within the timeline.
• Prepare agenda papers and presentations for submission of credit-related MIS to the bank's senior management and board, highlighting key trends, exceptions and areas requiring management attention.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of MIS submissions, supporting data and committee minutes.
• Collect, consolidate and analyze MIS on Seasonal Financing Products and share it with the line manager.
• Review and revise credit approval documents, including credit approval memos, approved templates for financial analysis and facility offering templates, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Suggest improvements in the credit approval process.
• Support the development, maintenance and revision of the bank's credit policies and procedures, ensuring safe, sound and compliant lending processes that support responsible business growth.
• Provide guidance to relevant functions across the bank on credit policies and procedures to facilitate consistent implementation.
• Coordinate with internal and external audit and compliance teams for data validation, report verification and other audit queries.
• Perform other assignments assigned by supervisors.

Selection and Employment Terms

Only shortlisted candidates strictly meeting the basic eligibility criteria will be invited for panel interviews. Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, renewable at management's discretion. Selected candidates will receive a compensation package and other benefits under the bank's policies and rules.
