Municipal Committee Okara Public Notice: Repair or Demolish Dangerous Buildings

Municipal Committee Okara warns owners and occupants of hazardous or dilapidated buildings within municipal limits to immediately repair or demolish dangerous parts to protect themselves, their families and the public. Residents are urged to report such buildings to the Municipal Committee and to avoid excavations (e.g., basements) during the monsoon, since such work can cause loss of life and property; owners will be fully responsible for any damages arising from excavations.

Failure to comply will result in legal action under the Punjab Local Government Act 2025, Section 160(1), punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of PKR 500,000 (five hundred thousand) or both. Issued by the Chief Officer, Municipal Committee Okara.
