Unit Head – Central & North Litigation (Legal Group) | The Bank of Punjab

Issuer: The Bank of Punjab. Opportunity for an experienced litigation lawyer to lead the Bank’s Central & North litigation matters in the Litigation Division (Legal Group).

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the Bank’s litigation portfolio across various business areas (e.g., SME, recovery and other cases).
• Vet and supervise drafting of plaints, petitions, CPLA, CP, CA, applications, appeals and representations before filing in competent courts and quasi-judicial forums.
• Ensure timely issuance of POAs to external counsels and provide oversight to external legal advisors.
• Provide legal guidance on settlements and compromise agreements to facilitate amicable resolutions within legal framework.
• Liaise with external counsel, Business Units and Relationship/Recovery Managers to obtain information and documents and to ensure effective court representation defending the Bank’s interests.
• Recommend and empanel qualified lawyers and prepare approval notes and allocation of amounts per legal SOPs.

Eligibility & Requirements

• Qualification: Minimum LLB or relevant degree from an HEC-recognized local or foreign university/institute.
• Experience: Minimum 9 years of relevant post-qualification experience in litigation, banking laws, criminal laws, corporate & recovery matters.
• Age Limit: Up to 55 years as on date of application.
