PMDC Vacancy — Manager (Geophysics) (Open Contract)

Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) invites applications for the post of Manager (Geophysics) on an open contract basis. The position requires advanced academic qualifications in geophysics, substantial post-qualification experience including supervisory/technical lead experience, and strong capability in geophysical survey design, data acquisition, processing, interpretation and integrated subsurface modelling.

Key responsibilities (summary):

1. Plan, design and execute integrated geophysical programs for mineral exploration using magnetic, gravity, ERT, IP, MT/AMT, radiometric and other techniques.

2. Define survey grids, line orientation, station spacing, acquisition parameters, quality-control procedures and technical specifications.

3. Lead and QA/QC field acquisition, processing, quality control, interpretation and integration of geophysical datasets.

4. Supervise calibration, mobilization, operation, maintenance and demobilization of geophysical instruments and field equipment.

5. Process and interpret geophysical data using specialist software (e.g., Oasis Montaj, Geosoft, Surfer, GIS tools, Global Mapper and related packages); prepare maps, sections and 2D/3D models.

6. Integrate geophysical results with geological mapping, structural interpretation, geochemistry, borehole and geotechnical data to define target geometry, continuity, alteration patterns and mineralization potential.

7. Identify, rank and prioritize exploration targets and recommend follow-up surveys, trenching, drilling or other investigation methods.

8. Manage geophysical databases and ensure data verification, metadata, documentation, secure archiving and controlled access.

9. Supervise geophysical teams and contractors ensuring compliance with survey designs, schedules, budgets, HSE requirements and recognized industry practices; prepare technical reports and presentations.
