Issued by the Emergency Services Department, Government of the Punjab (Rescue 1122). Building owners and managers are required to ensure essential fire and life-safety measures are in place. Non-compliance may render the owner liable for loss of life or property.
Required safety measures and minimum standards:

| Emergency Staircases | Maximum 100 ft apart with signage, floor marking and emergency lights; ventilated and unobstructed. |
| Internal Stand Pipe System (Wet Riser) | On each floor with 2.5 inch diameter coupling and 1.5 inch hose with nozzle. |
| Clear Access to Basements | At least two exits on opposite sides. No hazardous material, boiler or kitchen in basement. |
| Automatic Sprinkler System | Required in all spaces having any combustible material. |
| Floor Separators in Electrical Ducts | Separated by 4 mm metal sheet and fire-resistant sealants around cables. |
| Fire Dampers in HVAC | Fire dampers and insulation of ducts with fire-retardant materials. |
| Fire Extinguishers (DCP-6Kg) | Near exits, maximum 75 ft apart; one per 2,000 sq ft floor area. |
| First Aid Box & Fire Escape Masks | At each floor entrance, security posts, reception or nursing stations; at least 2 fire escape masks. |
| External Fire Hydrant | Red pillar type at safe, easily accessible points with 2 outlets of 2.5" dia and instantaneous coupling. |
| Compliance Warning | In case of non-compliance, the owner shall be liable for any loss of life or property. |
