Government of Pakistan — Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives invites applications for the post of Chief Statistician (who shall also serve as Chief Executive Officer) at the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

| Experience & Skills | Minimum 20 years' professional experience, with at least 5 years in senior management in organizations of significant size and importance. Demonstrated technical knowledge of statistics, national and international economic and management skills, experience managing large databases and national statistical surveys, compiling/analyzing National Income Accounts and economic statistics, leadership and research record, and experience with advanced computer/statistical software. |
| Terms of Appointment | Five (05) years; eligible for re-appointment through a competitive process subject to performance. Individual will cease on completion of term or on attaining age 65, whichever is earlier. |
| Age Limit | Maximum 60 years on closing date of applications |
| Salary | Special Professional Pay Scale-II |
| Key Responsibilities (selected) | Decide manner of statistical data collection, transmission and publication; supervise census operations via Provincial Census Commissioners; appraise quality of national statistics; ensure coordination with other statistical agencies; promote analytical and research capacity; prepare annual and five-year work plans and budgets; develop national statistical standards and promote standardization conforming to international norms. |
