Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation Merit-Cum-Inaffordability Scholarships 2026–27

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation (KP-EF) invites applications from newly enrolled students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its Merit-Cum-Inaffordability Scholarship Scheme 2026–27. Applications must be submitted through the KP-EF Online Scholarship Portal before 31 December 2026. Special preference will be given to orphans, children of martyrs, students with physical disabilities and students eligible for Zakat.

Established as a corporate body in 1992 under an Act of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly, KP-EF promotes and develops higher education in the province through financial support for students, teacher training, skills development and other measures.

Eligibility: Applicants must hold Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile and have achieved at least 70% marks in their last examination or a 3.00 CGPA. For specialized arts universities, selection will be based on a merit aptitude test assessing skills. The monthly income of the applicant’s parents or guardian must not exceed Rs. 160,000.

Applicants must have secured admission to an approved educational institution within Pakistan and be newly enrolled in the first year of a BS or MS degree programme. Eligible fields include Emerging Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Management Sciences, General Sciences, Allied Health Sciences and Arts. The approved list of institutions is available through the KP-EF official website, the Higher Education Department website and DASTAK. Students receiving another scholarship are not eligible for this scheme.

Application procedure: Students must register and apply through the KP-EF official website, www.ef.kp.gov.pk, and the Online Scholarship Portal before 31 December 2026. Applications will be processed through the online digital portal; direct applications to KP-EF or a university will not be entertained. Scholarship Disbursement Official Committees will conduct interviews at university campuses for final recommendations.

Award and renewal: Scholarships will be awarded equally among male and female students. If applications are unavailable from either group, the scholarships will be allocated to the next eligible students on merit, whether male or female. Renewal will depend entirely on academic performance, with recipients required to maintain a 3.00 CGPA; otherwise, KP-EF will discontinue the scholarship.

The Foundation reserves the right to amend the scheme, change or extend the deadline, or reject the scheme. KP-EF maintains zero tolerance for corruption.
