Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC), a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, invites applications for the post of Manager (Geophysics) on an open contract basis. The role requires advanced geophysics qualifications, substantial post-qualification experience in mineral exploration, and proven technical and supervisory capability.

| Qualifications | BS/MS/MPhil in Geophysics or Applied Geophysics (Ph.D. preferred) from an HEC-recognized institution, minimum 16 years of education. Higher degrees and relevant professional training preferred. |
| Experience | Minimum 8 years relevant post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or technical lead role. Experience in mineral exploration, geophysical data acquisition, processing, interpretation, quality control, and integrated subsurface modelling is required. |
| Age Limit | 38 years on the last date of application submission. |
| Preference | Candidates with domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan will be preferred. |
| Key Responsibilities |
Core duties include planning, designing and executing integrated geophysical programs for mineral exploration; defining survey geometry, line orientation and spacing; acquisition parameter specification; QA/QC; processing, interpretation and integration of geophysical datasets; supervising field operations, instrument calibration and maintenance; and delivering reliable targets for drilling and exploration. Specific tasks include processing and interpretation using software such as Oasis Montaj, Zond GM/2D/3D, EarthImager, RES2D, Voxler, MagMap, Surfer, GIS, Global Mapper; forward modelling and inversion; integration with geological mapping and borehole data; 2D and 3D modelling to determine target geometry and controls; preparation of technical reports, maps, sections, and exploration recommendations; management of geophysical databases and documentation; and supervision of field teams and contractors while ensuring compliance with safety and industry practices. |
