Banking Court Karachi Summons in Habib Bank Suit No. 171 of 2026

Banking Court No. I, Karachi, before Judge Muhammad Saad Qureshi, has issued summons in Suit No. 171 of 2026, Habib Bank Limited versus Mewrys Marketing, through its proprietor Fahad Ali, son of Mazhar Ali.

Habib Bank Limited has its registered office at Habib Bank Tower, Jinnah Avenue, Blue Area, Islamabad, and its place of business at HBL Tower, Teen Talwar, Clifton, Karachi. The bank is acting through its duly authorized attorneys.

The suit has been instituted under the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001, for recovery of Rs. 1,093,418.62, together with profits or markups, cost of funds, charges and costs until realization of the amount.

The defendant is summoned to obtain leave from the court within 30 days of service of the summons to appear and defend the suit, and to have an appearance entered within that period. An application for leave to defend must be supported by an affidavit or declaration showing a defence on the merits or grounds making it reasonable to allow the defendant to appear.

In default, the plaintiff may obtain a decree after the expiry of the 30-day period for the recoverable amount, together with applicable costs and cost of funds from the date of institution of the suit until realization.

The matter is fixed for 4 December 2026 at 9:00 a.m. before Banking Court No. I, Karachi, Block No. 55-A, Pakistan Secretariat, near Passport Office, Saddar, Karachi. The summons was issued under the hand and seal of the court on 30 October 2026, by order of the Reader, Banking Court No. I, Karachi.
