Habib Bank Recovery Suit No. 167 of 2026 – Banking Court I Karachi

Banking Court No. I, Karachi, before Judge Muhammad Saad Qureshi, has issued summons in Suit No. 167 of 2026 under the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001. Habib Bank Limited seeks recovery of Rs. 497,834.18, together with cost of funds and costs of the suit.

The defendant is summoned to obtain leave from the court within 30 days of service of the summons to appear and defend the suit, and to arrange for an appearance to be entered within that period. An application for leave to appear must be supported by an affidavit or declaration showing a defence to the suit on its merits, or grounds making it reasonable for the defendant to be allowed to appear.

If the defendant fails to obtain leave within the prescribed period, the plaintiff may obtain a decree for a sum not exceeding Rs. 497,834.18, along with costs, markup and cost of funds, if any, from the date of institution of the suit, as ordered by the court.

The matter is fixed for 30 November 2026 at 9:00 a.m. before Banking Court No. I, Karachi, Block No. 55, Pakistan Secretariat, near Passport Office, Saddar, Karachi. The summons was issued under the hand and seal of the court on 30 October 2026, by order of the Reader, Banking Court No. I, Karachi.
