Habib Bank Recovery Suit No. 172 of 2026 – Banking Court No. 1 Karachi

Banking Court No. 1 at Karachi, before Judge Muhammad Saad Qureshi, has issued summons in Suit No. 172 of 2026 under Appendix B, Form No. 4 of the Code of Civil Procedure. The court is located at Block No. 55, Pak Secretariat, near Passport Office, Saddar, Karachi.

Habib Bank Limited has instituted a recovery suit under the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001, claiming Rs. 5,377,967.95, together with profit or mark-up, cost of funds, charges, costs, and realization of the amount due.

The defendants are summoned to obtain leave from the court within 30 days of service, appear and defend the suit, and file an application for leave to defend. If they fail to do so, the plaintiff may obtain a decree after the expiry of that period for Rs. 5,377,967.95, together with costs and applicable relief.

Leave to appear and defend may be obtained upon an application supported by an affidavit disclosing a defence to the suit on its merits or showing that it is reasonable to allow the defendants to appear and defend.

The defendants are directed to attend Banking Court No. 1, Karachi, on 2 December 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The summons was issued under the court's seal on 20 October 2026, by order of the Reader, Banking Court No. 1, Karachi.
