Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) – Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM) – 1 Post, Islamabad

Issuer: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL). ZTBL invites online applications for one (1) Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM) to be engaged at its Head Office, Islamabad on a contractual basis.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Shahadat ul Aalamiyah (Dars-e-Nizami) degree or equivalent OR a Post Graduate degree in Kulyyatush Shariah / Kulliyah Usul al-Din / LL.M (Shariah) or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Shariah scholar must have at least 4 years of experience issuing Shariah rulings (including Takhassus fil Ifta); OR at least 5 years post-qualification experience in teaching or research & development in Islamic banking and finance.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a certificate in Takhassus fil Fiqh/Takhassus fil Ifta and to those with at least 3 years' experience as a Shariah Advisor or member of a Shariah Board/Team in an Islamic Financial Institution (IFI), or as a deputy to a Shariah Advisor.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide Shariah rulings, clarifications and guidance to management and staff on products, documents, process flows and operational Shariah-related matters.
• Ensure provision of all necessary information and details to enable proper understanding of products, processes, business and economic outcomes from a Shariah perspective.
• Guide the Shariah Compliance Department (SCD) on compliance reviews and key business areas; review responses to Shariah-related queries from clients regarding products and services.
• Facilitate SCD in designing and conducting training activities and assist in preparation of materials, explanations and clarifications provided by him/her on Shariah-related issues.
• Assist in ensuring decisions, rulings and fatwas issued by the Shariah Board are properly implemented across operations.

Other Important Details

• Maximum age limit: 61 years as on closing date.
• Market-competitive remuneration will be offered.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview; no TA/DA will be admissible.
• Appointment will be on contract basis for an initial period of 3 years (extendable); detailed terms to be set in the contract.
• ZTBL reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning reasons.
