Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) invites applications for one (1) Resident Shariah Board Member (RSBM) at its Head Office, Islamabad. The appointment is on a contractual basis for a period of three (3) years (extendable). Market competitive remuneration will be offered.

Experience & Eligibility	Shariah scholar with at least four (4) years’ experience giving Shariah rulings including period of Tahkassus fil Ifta; or at least five (5) years post-qualification experience in teaching or research and development in Islamic banking and finance. Preference to those with Tahkassus fil Fiqh/Tahkassus fil Ifta. Alternate preference: Shariah scholar with at least three (3) years’ experience as Shariah Advisor or Member of Shariah team of an Islamic Financial Institution (IFI) or deployed as Shariah Advisor/member of Shariah Team of an IFI. Strong understanding of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh), Fiqh methodologies, Islamic finance and banking, and Shariah related issues. Required qualifications include Shahadat al-Alamiyyah (Dars-e-Nizami) or equivalent, or Post Graduate Degree in Kulliyyatush Shariah, Kulliyyah Usouludden, LL.M (Shariah) or equivalent from recognized institutions. Maximum age limit: 61 years as on closing date.
Key Responsibilities	Provide Shariah rulings, clarification and guidance on IBI (Islamic banking) products, documents, processes, and other operational Shariah related matters. Ensure provision of necessary information, details and documents to enable proper understanding of products, processes, flows, business outcomes and Shariah permissibility issues. Guide the Shariah Compliance function by reviewing key business areas on a test check basis and recommending actions. Respond to Shariah related queries of IBI clients regarding products and services as submitted by SCD. Assist SCD and Training Department in designing and conducting training activities. Submit at least a quarterly report to the Shariah Board and assist in ratification and documentation of Shariah related clarifications provided by him/her.
