Vacancies: Vice Chancellors for Five Public Sector Medical Universities in Punjab — Apply by 2026-07-20

Government of the Punjab, Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department invites applications for the positions of Vice Chancellor for five public sector medical universities in Punjab following promulgation of The Public Sector Medical Universities (Amendment) Act, 2026.

Key eligibility requirements:

- MBBS degree (minimum second division) or equivalent; postgraduate clinical qualification such as FCPS/MD/MS or equivalent in clinical subjects, or Ph.D. in basic medical sciences from an institute/university recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC/PMC).

- At least ten years as a Professor in a medical institute or university recognized by PMDC/PMC.

- Minimum of twenty publications in indexed medical journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission or PMDC/PMC.

- Candidate must not be more than seventy years of age on the last date of submission of applications.

Term and conditions:

- Appointment will be for a period of four years (non-extendable) and the Vice Chancellor will serve during the pleasure of the Chancellor.

- The Vice Chancellor shall not hold any other paid or unpaid post (administrative/academic/honorary) during the period of appointment. Detailed terms and conditions will be notified separately.
